African Grassroot Hoops was established November 2014 and registered as a non-profit company (NPC) to bring basketball to underprivileged  areas of Cape Town and surrounding areas by building and or revamping public basketball courts.

AGH partners with communities and community basketball clubs in previously disadvantaged areas using basketball courts as a vehicle for youth  development and empowerment, the focus is on young and impressionable individuals.

Our drive is to be a source of hope, an outlet for young individuals who live in one of the most unequal societies in the world regardless of gender, skill, disability, previous exposure to basketball, all we require is a can-do attitude. Our greatest strength is our passion for strategically developing programs based on feedback from the community clubs for which we work.
